I just loved painting this little gal. I wanted to keep the paint thick and creamy on the animals in contrast to the very thin paint everywhere else. I started this painting as a demo in my class, wanting to show my students how I proceed on a Lead Ground board. This was so much fun to do! I just varnished and framed her in a beautiful authentic barn board frame, made from barns in the mid west. Very fitting I thought...It looks awesome!
As you can see by the majority of Laura's work, seascapes and figurative work are what she is most passionate about. Her Umbrella Series is also a particular favorite of hers and her clients. Laura's new series of Shabby Chic florals is a big hit with her students and clients. She paints full time and enjoys a number of different techniques and styles of painting in her home studio in Walpole MA. Presently you can see Laura and her work at the "Artist's Studio and Gallery at Patriot Place" in Foxboro, MA. The Gallery is open Fri. 5-9, Sat. 1-9 and Sun. 12-6.
