Medium
Painting - Water Soluble Oils
Description
This is my first sketch using water soluble oils. I did this and "Sun Setting over Boston" while working my shift at the Patriot Place Art Gallery last weekend, the time passes much more quickly when I paint and it is a really good use of my time there. People also love to see artists at work at their easels. I'm really liking these paints too and as you can see I'm trying to be looser and more abstract than most of my work. I was trying to keep it loose and fresh and not to overwork it. Can't wait to do some larger pieces.

I did this piece more or less as an experiment. Very quickly and trying to keep it fresh. Thanks Lois!

I’d like thank everyone who voted for me in this latest contest. I can’t believe how much attention this piece is getting. It just goes to show you....i did this in just a couple of hours. If you give yourself a time limit it lends itself to a looser and fresh painting.

Laura Lee congratulations on your win in the "Purple Dreams" contest ... you certainly got my vote!!! This is a delicious beauty!!! I'd definitely say your "looser and more abstract" goals were met to perfection (of course I admire your more realistic work as well!!!!) ... point being, you can't go wrong!!!! Congratz again!!!!!
