What is so striking about this piece is the size of the horse on this large canvas. I first textured the canvas to make it resemble wood planks, then rubbed in acrylic paints for the wood grain. Then painted the horse in oil paints. This photo does not do it justice. If you're local come to the gallery at Patriot Place and see it in person. I'll be bringing him up there in a couple of weeks.
As you can see by the majority of Laura's work, seascapes and figurative work are what she is most passionate about. Her Umbrella Series is also a particular favorite of hers and her clients. Laura's new series of Shabby Chic florals is a big hit with her students and clients. She paints full time and enjoys a number of different techniques and styles of painting in her home studio in Walpole MA. Presently you can see Laura and her work at the "Artist's Studio and Gallery at Patriot Place" in Foxboro, MA. The Gallery is open Fri. 5-9, Sat. 1-9 and Sun. 12-6.
